Charlotte’s Worst Improv Classes
Friction is funny
If everything is online, something real gets lost.
Real, uncurated connection. Teamwork without agenda.
The belly laughs that can only happen when we’re together in the same room at the same time doing the same thing.
Friction is how we find traction,
It’s how momentum begins.
But friction is often uncomfortable.
That’s the whole point.
And that’s where the funny comes in.

New to Improv?
Demonstrating the value up front
Teaching improv over a website is like teaching bodybuilding over a website.
I can show you everything, step by step. But you actually have to embody that knowledge — participate in the games and scenes and exercises — to see any real benefit.
But do I hope it’ll help demystify the process a bit to explain things on the blog first. Reduce the initial anxiety of a new student or teacher.
Demonstrate the value up front, hopefully. Show I know what I’m talking about. Explain exactly what it takes to both teach and perform improv in ways that’ll help yourself and others.
If you can do it yourself, you should. Steal my stuff, use it well. We need good improv — badly.
But if you’d rather someone help do it right, that’s what I’m here for. I’d prefer it, actually.
